Pet rehabilitation, akin to physiotherapy (PT) in humans, involves therapeutic exercises to assist your pet in recovering efficiently from injury, surgery, or chronic disease. Rehabilitation can also help as patients age with conditions such as arthritis and other age-related diseases.​

Every animal/pet deserves the best quality of life for as long as possible. The goal of rehabilitation is to assist your pet in regaining as much of their strength and function as they had prior to any injury or surgery as possible. By teaching, and practicing targeted exercises, and using specific modalities, we can significantly improve your pet’s strength, flexibility, and overall quality of life, as well as aid them in their recovery from surgery, muscle, tendon/ligament, and bone diseases, and as they age.

Veterinary rehabilitation can benefit almost every pet. Rehab is particularly important for those suffering from chronic disease(s), recovering from surgery, injuries, or wounds. Such as knee or hip surgeries (e.g. TPLO, Total Hip Replacement, Total Hip Osteotomy, TTA), ACL/CCL tears, or partial tears, suspensory ligament tears, hip or elbow dysplasia, tendon, ligament, and muscle injuries, Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD), degenerative joint disease or arthritis, as well as many others. Additionally, rehab can benefit those animals/pets seeking to lose weight, or increase their fitness and/or conditioning, especially for competition horses or canines.

Acupuncture is defined as the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body to produce a healing response. Each acupuncture point has specific actions when stimulated. This technique has been used in veterinary practice in China for thousands of years to treat many ailments. The Chinese also use acupuncture as preventative medicine.

Acupuncture is used all around the world, either along or in conjunction with Western medicine, to treat a wide variety of conditions in every species of animal. Clinical research has been conducted showing positive results in the treatment of both animals and humans, and the use of acupuncture is increasing. Acupuncture will not cure every condition, but it can work very well when it is indicated.
